What Type of Chocolate do you use?
There are many superior names in the world of chocolate and chocolate is definitely a matter of personal taste. There forever will be debate about which chocolate reigns supreme and we do consider the type we use as one of the best. It is one of the finest chocolates available.
What is a Chocolatier (or fountain attendant)?
The Chocolatier will set up and remain with the fountain during your event. Our chocolatiers are appropriately dressed for your occasion and identified as a Northwest Chocolate Fountain employee. They are professional and knowledgeable and will answer any questions your guests have regarding the fountain.
Do you rent the fountains unsupervised?
Yes, the small fountain can be delivered, set up and running for you. We will return at the designated time to clean and dismantle the fountain. You don't have to do anything but enjoy the fountain with your guests.
How much chocolate do you provide?
For the small fountain we include 10 pounds of chocolate and our medium fountain includes 20 pounds of chocolate. For an additional cost, we offer chocolate in five pound or ten pound increments.
How many people will the fountains serve?
The small fountain can accommodate up to 100 guests and the medium fountain is capable of serving up to 300 guests. Though if the chocolate supply is refilled the fountains can serve far more!
Who provides the foods for dipping?
Many hotels and conference centers discourage outside catering and will provide you with a quote for catering your dipping items. This should be discussed with your location contact prior to signing your rental agreement. The fountain can be surrounded with strawberries, pineapple, marshmallows, and other fruits. Stay away from any item that will fall off the skewers, or fragment and possibly drop into the fountain, and clog it. We will do our best to work with your caterer to ensure you get the presentation you desire.
What do I have to do to prepare the fountain?
We will need access to the facility at least 60 minutes prior to the designated starting time. The fountain will be set up and flowing as your guests enter the event area. Since these fountains are quite heavy when filled with chocolate it's very important that a sturdy and level table be provided at the event. Access to an electrical three prong outlet no more than ten feet from the table. Along with the dipping items, plates and napkins will also be needed.
Can the fountain be used outdoors?
We do not serve fountains outside for the following reasons: Maintaining a warm temperature for the chocolate is crucial for a continued smooth operation of the fountain. If the fountain is outside insects are likely to be drawn to the sweet aroma of the chocolate. As you can imagine, this makes for an unappealing presentation. The fountain location is very important inside too, so it won't be affected by air movement, such as fans or air-conditioning vents. The fountain has a tempering heating unit, as long as it's not in a draft, it will maintain its temperature and the chocolate will not harden.
